Currently Coveting - Seahorses by the Seashore

I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. A few things have dropped in the store since I last posted and one of them being this Vermeil Gold Seahorse Necklace below. This piece is an absolute favorite of mine because of how delicate and dainty it is. I am really simple when it comes to jewelry, so this piece allows me to keep things minimal while adding life to my outfit. If you are like me and do not always feel like layering a number of pieces or wearing a chunky necklace then pick this piece up. It is extremely versatile and it reminds me of some remote island. If you can't get away then this Vermeil Gold Seahorse Necklace is the next best thing.

Take a look and pick out a piece for yourself!

Music Monday Gems

I really enjoy listening to music. If I could sing I would probably be pursuing a career as a singer, but I can't so I just stick to karaoke. Every Monday I'll share a few good music links that I managed to stumble upon in the previous week. I love all genres of music and you'll soon see that, however I do have a weakness for R&B and all things Beyoncé. I am open minded, so if you have an artist or song you wish to share with me don't be shy and leave a comment below.

First things first, Beyoncé.

Next Up: Peace of Mind -The Jezabels

I finished The Killing up today and was a little saddened by the end of four seasons of excitement.  I am not really into murder mystery shows but when I found this show on Netflix I was hooked. The show centers around detective Linden as she attempts to find a balance between the former lives of her victims and her life. The addition of her humorous partner, Holder, keeps things interesting. For the most part, the show is gloomy and the ever rainy Seattle setting adds to this.  The last and final episode features a song by The Jezabels called Peace of Mind. It is isn't really summer music, but it is a gem.

New In Shop

I added a few new pieces to the store last week. The nice thing about each piece is that you can layer them with other dainty necklaces. If you are looking for something different then these charm necklaces are the way to go.  These also make great birthday gifts! Here is a quick roundup of some of the items but you can check out the full list here

Currently Coveting - Amethyst

I am not the biggest fan of purple. I mean it is okay, but it is nothing spectacular until I see an Amethyst stone. I really do love this stone. There is something about it that can make a piece seem edgy depending on the cut and delicate depending on the size. I enjoy working with it so much that there are a few pieces available in my store (including the one below).  I am always on the lookout for more Amethyst and different ways to use it. I currently have a strand of Amethyst beads that I am trying to put to good use. I live in Southern California so the piece below is heavily inspired by the ocean.  Staring at the cool blues and greens in this necklace makes me yearn for a nice beach day.

Take a look, have fun and get lost!

Choosing Bezels - Topaz

I enjoy perusing through a selection of bezels because of the vibrant colors. One of the few colors that I have always found myself leaning towards are blues. Picture clear skies and waters - that's the kind of blue I rock with.  Bezels look so simple yet elegant. Throw on your favorite white blouse and you're good! I like to keep two things in mind when deciding on the right bezel necklace.

Color - there is really no compromise for this one. Stick with your ride or die citrus yellow or step outside your comfort zone. This is your opportunity to set the mood for your entire outfit.
Size- this really determines how well the necklace sits. You can't go wrong with ovals (pictured below) and other circular pieces.
